New board of Carbfix hf.

In support of Carbfix’s mission to significantly contribute to climate recovery through worldwide scaling and further development of the company’s CO2 mineral storage technology, four new members joined the board of Carbfix hf. at its recent annual general meeting.

Joining the board are Nana Bule, as chair, Benedikt K. Magnússon, Brynhildur Davíðsdóttir and Tómas Már Sigurðsson.

 

Nana Bule has +20 years of experience as a senior executive in the tech industry, leading transformation, and business growth. Until earlier this year she was CEO/General Manager of Microsoft Denmark & Iceland and is currently Operating Advisor for Goldman Sachs Asset Management. She is chair of the Danish National Digital Council and chairing the Danish government’s Energy taskforce on Renewable Energy. She is a member of the boards of Energinet, Arla Foods, and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

 

Benedikt K. Magnússon is Chief Financial Officer at Reykjavík Energy. Prior to that role he was Head of Advisory, partner, and board member at KPGM Iceland with +20 years of experience in consulting at KPMG.

 

Dr. Brynhildur Davíðsdóttir is a Professor of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Iceland. She has +20 years of experience in teaching, research, and consulting where her focus has included transitions to low carbon energy systems, sustainability assessments, and climate change mitigation. She is Vice-Chair of the Icelandic Climate Council and is on the board of the Arctic Circle Foundation. She was on the board of Reykjavík Energy from 2011 to 2022, as Chair from 2016.

 

Tómas Már Sigurðsson is CEO of HS Orka. Prior to that role he worked at Alcoa for 16 years where his roles included President of Alcoa Iceland, President for Alcoa in Europe and the Middle East, and Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer for the company worldwide. He has been Chair of the Iceland Chamber of Commerce and served on the boards of the Federation of Icelandic Industries, Europe Aluminium, Eurometaux and Business Europe.

 

Elín Smáradóttir, General Council at Reykjavík Energy, remains on the board.
